WARDOGS Season 2 doesn’t have a locked release date, but Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer put a rough window on it on 18 September 2026: about three weeks out from that post, which lines up with early-to-mid October 2026 given the game’s launch date. WARDOGS, developed by Bulkhead and published by Team17, entered Steam early access on 10 September 2026, and Season 1 is the build every player is currently sitting in. This piece lays out exactly what Brammer and the official WARDOGS account said in three posts on the same day, what’s still unconfirmed, and what a Season 1 player should get done before the reset.

TL;DR

  • No fixed Season 2 date exists yet — Brammer’s own estimate is “3 weeks away-ish” from 18 September 2026, pointing at roughly early-to-mid October.
  • Confirmed Season 2 changes, in Brammer’s own posts: new weapons and vehicles, a reshuffled progression order, rotation of existing gear, and server search by name. Specific weapon and vehicle names have not been announced.
  • Gold Bars and the cosmetics bought with them carry over; level progression and cash reset, with leftover cash auto-converted to Gold Bars (in-game Gold Exchange panel).
  • Exact date, patch size and the item list are not stated in the posts checked.

When Is WARDOGS Season 2 Coming Out?

Bulkhead hasn’t announced a Season 2 date. What exists instead is a same-day cluster of posts from 18 September 2026. At 12:44 UTC, CEO Joe Brammer posted on X that he’d played the Season 2 build already: “I got to play the Season 2 build today, I wish we could get it out faster.. but reality is time exists.” Half an hour later, at 13:13 UTC, when a follower asked directly when it lands, he replied: “It’s about a month after launch, so 3 weeks away-ish.” Since WARDOGS launched into early access on 10 September 2026, that estimate points at roughly the 9th to 12th of October, though it’s the CEO’s own approximate math, not a scheduled date. Then at 17:50 UTC, the official @WARDOGS account posted, on the one-week anniversary of launch, that “Work on Season 02 is already underway. We’ll share more information as soon as we can.” PCGamesN independently corroborated the exact wording of Brammer’s quotes and timing the same day.

Players short on time can put WARDOGS boosting alongside a normal playthrough rather than in place of one.

What's Actually Confirmed for Season 2 (and What Isn't)

Content-wise, Brammer has said very little beyond a promise. He confirmed Season 2 brings “lots of new content and changes,” specifically calling out material that was cut to hit the early access launch date as “now coming to fruition.” In the same post he added that “Season 2 and 3 look sick,” meaning Season 3 is already in some form of development alongside Season 2, though no detail on it exists beyond that line. A press report also notes that Bulkhead has previously said it doesn’t plan to expand dramatically on maps, vehicles, and weapon types during early access, which is worth keeping in mind when reading “lots of new content” — it’s a framing constraint from the studio, not a promise of new maps or guns. Separately, Brammer’s earlier statement on 27 August 2026 confirmed Season 1 itself runs one month, while seasons 2, 3 and 4 are left flexible and decided by Bulkhead as development goes.

What Bulkhead has said about the shape of a season is on record from the week before. On 12 September Brammer wrote: “Each season we will change the order of progression and implement new weapons and vehicles etc. We will also rotate out existing ones. As we build the meta, more and more of the game will be persistant and saved to your account” (X, 12 Sep 2026). On 11 September, asked about server search by name, he replied “Yep on it season 2” (X, 11 Sep 2026), adding in the same thread that the team might speed it up (Insider Gaming, 14 Sep 2026). So the categories are confirmed — new weapons and vehicles, a reshuffled progression order, rotation of existing gear, server search by name — while the specific items are not.

None of the 18 September posts give an exact date or a patch content list — those are not addressed in what has been posted so far.

Season 1 Pre-Reset Checklist: What to Finish Before Season 2

Whatever the exact date turns out to be, the mechanics that govern a WARDOGS season reset are already documented on the site’s own Gold Bars season-end explainer: cash is what gets wiped and converted, and Gold Bars are the one part of the economy a reset doesn’t touch. The site’s WARDOGS money guide also covers how cash works as a running balance rather than a per-match allowance, which is worth reading in full before deciding what to spend down. The rule itself is printed in the game, on the Gold Exchange panel, as quoted by wardogshub.gg and other community sources: “At the end of a major update cycle your level progression and cash will be reset. The date of any major update and progression reset will be announced ahead of time. Any remaining cash at the end of a cycle will be automatically exchanged for gold bars.” We have not checked the panel in the client ourselves; the wording is consistent across the sources.

Note

Level progression resetting comes from the in-game panel text as quoted by community sources, not from a Bulkhead post; Bulkhead has also described some account value (Gold Bars, cosmetics, and over time more of the meta) as persistent across seasons.

Follow this sequence to get it done fast.

  1. 1

    Check your current cash balance

cash carries between matches and lives inside a season, but it's the part of the economy that gets converted when Season 1 ends.

  2. 2

Decide what to spend before the reset

since leftover cash is what converts to Gold Bars, spending it down on loadout purchases you actually want now is one option worth weighing against holding it.

  3. 3

Push your account level while Season 1's XP curve still applies

the site's Season 1 XP curve guide covers how unlock levels moved this season, and per the developer's own numbers the median player reaches around level 20 in about 20 – 25 hours of play. With Brammer's own timeline putting the reset roughly three weeks from 18 September, that's the real cost in hours if you're trying to close out a level target before the switch.

  4. 4

Grab role-track unlocks tied to levels you're close to

check the role track breakdown for what each branch unlocks at which level, since these unlock costs were already adjusted once in the Season 1 changelog.

  5. 5

    Know what carries over

Gold Bars and gold-bought cosmetics survive the reset; level progression and cash do not (Gold Exchange panel). Brammer has said more of the game will become persistent "as we build the meta" — treat anything beyond Gold Bars as not yet promised.

Our Take

Brammer’s own wording — “3 weeks away-ish” — is a hedge, not a commitment.

A CEO saying he’s already played a build and still can’t give a firm date is a good sign for how far along Season 2 actually is, but “ish” is doing real work in that sentence. The smarter read is to treat early-to-mid October as the working target and not build weekend plans around it landing on day one of that window.

What’s more useful right now than the date is the checklist above: Gold Bars are safe; cash and level progression reset.

Frequently Asked Questions

When exactly does WARDOGS Season 2 launch?
There's no confirmed date. Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer estimated on 18 September 2026 that it's "about a month after launch, so 3 weeks away-ish," which points at roughly early-to-mid October 2026 given the 10 September 2026 launch, but this is his own approximation, not an announced date.
What content is confirmed for Season 2?
New weapons and vehicles, a changed order of progression, rotation of existing gear (Brammer, 12 September) and server search by name (Brammer, 11 September). No specific weapons, maps or vehicles have been named.
What survives the Season 1 reset?
Gold Bars and any cosmetics already bought with them. Per the in-game Gold Exchange panel, level progression and cash reset at the end of a major update cycle and leftover cash is automatically exchanged for Gold Bars.
Is Season 3 also in development?
Brammer referenced it in the same 18 September post, saying "Season 2 and 3 look sick," but gave no further detail on Season 3's timing or content.
