Mistfall Hunter can issue matchmaking suspensions for “Frequent Temporary Teaming in Matches.” The rule covers players who repeatedly team with people from other squads, refrain from attacking one another, and jointly attack third parties. However, the official announcement also says that occasional temporary teaming will not be penalized.
The distinction matters because Mistfall Hunter has separate rules and penalties for frequent temporary teaming, intentional Illegal Teaming, and cheating. The official notices do not publish an exact detection threshold or the length of an initial temporary-teaming suspension.
What Counts as Frequent Temporary Teaming?
In its August 21, 2026 Fair Play Penalty Announcement, the studio defined the violation through three connected behaviors:
- Players repeatedly team with people from other squads over a period of time.
- The cooperating players refrain from attacking one another.
- They jointly attack third-party players.
Players identified as following that pattern can receive a matchmaking suspension. The announcement says repeat offenders face progressively longer suspension periods.
The same notice explicitly says that occasional temporary teaming will not be penalized. It also says the detection system includes filtering conditions for attempts to stop ongoing fights and for multi-party engagements. That suggests the system is intended to distinguish a recurring cooperation pattern from every brief truce or complicated fight, although the studio has not explained exactly how those filters make that decision.
Important
No official announcement provides a specific match count, time window, cooperation percentage, or other numerical trigger for Frequent Temporary Teaming. Any precise threshold circulating elsewhere is unverified.
Anyone who would rather not spend the evenings on it can hand Mistfall Hunter boosting to our crew instead — same account, same progress, played by hand.
Temporary Teaming, Illegal Teaming, and Cheating Are Different
| Violation | Published definition or scope | Published penalty |
|---|---|---|
| Cheating | Confirmed use of cheats | Permanent account and device ban |
| Illegal Teaming | Multiple players deliberately enter the same match to cooperate against others or engage in similarly unfair conduct | Matchmaking suspension; repeat offenses can lead to increasingly severe penalties, including a permanent ban |
| Frequent Temporary Teaming | Players repeatedly cooperate with other squads, avoid attacking one another, and jointly attack third parties | Matchmaking suspension, with progressively longer suspensions for repeat offenses |
| Occasional temporary teaming | Occasional in-match cooperation | The August 21 announcement says it will not be penalized under the frequent temporary-teaming rule |
Mistfall Hunter’s official announcements describe separate enforcement categories. They should not be treated as interchangeable:
The intentional Illegal Teaming definition comes from an August 3 Fair Play announcement. The studio added a clarification after discovering that some translations had omitted the requirement that players deliberately enter the same match. That correction concerned intentional Illegal Teaming, which is distinct from the Frequent Temporary Teaming rule introduced later in August.
Cheating also carries a different stated consequence. The August 3 notice says confirmed cheating results in a permanent account and device ban. The Frequent Temporary Teaming announcement specifies a matchmaking suspension instead and does not provide a fixed duration.
The August 2026 Enforcement Timeline
- August 3: The studio clarified the definition of intentional Illegal Teaming after identifying a translation error. It also reiterated the permanent account and device penalty for cheating.
- August 12: A weekly Fair Play notice told players to report suspected cheating or illegal teaming in-game. It also announced that a report-feedback email feature would begin rolling out that week.
- August 21: The studio said more than 80% of respondents to its community poll supported penalties for temporary teaming. It defined Frequent Temporary Teaming, issued the first round of penalties, and said occasional temporary teaming would not be punished.
- August 27: Penalties for Frequent Temporary Teaming resumed after changes to the detection algorithm. This date comes from the August 28 announcement, which said enforcement had resumed “yesterday.”
- August 28: The studio publicly reported the algorithm changes and published another masked penalty list.
The August 28 notice said the enforcement principle remained unchanged: the system is intended to identify teaming behavior that causes the most severe damage to PvP fairness. It did not explain why enforcement had been paused or provide technical details about the changes.
What Bellring Has Not Disclosed
The official announcements deliberately withhold the detection system’s specific criteria. As of September 2, 2026, they do not state:
- How many incidents are required before behavior is considered frequent.
- Whether the relevant period is measured within one match, across multiple matches, or through another method.
- How long the first matchmaking suspension lasts.
- The duration added for each repeat offense.
- How much weight is given to automated detection compared with player reports.
- An appeal procedure for a Frequent Temporary Teaming penalty.
The absence of an appeal procedure from these notices does not prove that no support or appeal option exists; it only means the cited Fair Play announcements do not document one.
How to Report Suspected Teaming
The official instructions ask players who encounter suspected cheating or illegal teaming to use the in-game reporting system. The August 12 announcement also introduced a planned email feature intended to notify a reporter when their report results in a penalty. The post announced that feature for rollout during that week, but it was not presented as the only way the studio detects violations.
What the Rule Means in Practice
The clearest published boundary is repeated cross-squad cooperation: players avoid fighting one another while combining against third parties. Deliberately arranging to enter the same match and work together can also fall under the separate Illegal Teaming rule.
At the same time, the studio says occasional temporary cooperation is not penalized and that its filters account for ongoing fights and multi-party engagements. Because the exact threshold remains private, the official rules do not support claims that a particular number of truces is automatically safe—or automatically results in a suspension.
