Diablo 4‘s Season of Hell’s Legacy adds nine Legacy Uniques — iconic items from earlier Diablo games, reimagined for Diablo IV. This is a straight reference to the nine items in Blizzard’s official announcement: slot, classes, Charm version, the three published tooltips and what the 3.2.1 notes and hotfixes say about each.
TL;DR
- Season 15 (live since September 15, 2026) introduces nine Legacy Uniques; Blizzard calls them permanent additions available on both Seasonal and Eternal realms.
- Four are usable by every class: Leoric’s Crown, Nemesis Bracers, Stone of Jordan and Sirloin of the Bovine.
- Six of the nine also exist as Unique Charms for the Talisman system — marked in the table below.
- Blizzard has published tooltips for three items (The Furnace, Stone of Jordan, Henri’s Perquisition); affix text for the other six and drop sources are not in the official posts we checked.
What Are Legacy Uniques in Diablo 4?
Legacy Uniques are a set of nine Unique-rarity items themed around older Diablo games, added as part of the Season of Hell’s Legacy content update alongside the seasonal Waking Nightmare encounters and the Splinters of Evil system. They’re built by developer and publisher Blizzard Entertainment as a callback for the franchise’s 30th anniversary, but functionally they sit in the game the same way any other Unique item does — they roll as normal Unique rarity, not a separate tier. The distinction that matters for planning a build is which slot each one occupies, which classes can wear it, and whether it also comes in a Unique Charm form for the Talisman system.
All nine rows come straight from Blizzard’s own list; the source doesn’t split this table by mode or platform, so it applies the same way across Seasonal, Eternal, Hardcore and Softcore characters.
| Item | Slot | Classes | Charm Version |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leoric's Crown | Helm | All Classes | No |
| Nemesis Bracers | Gloves | All Classes | Yes |
| Stone of Jordan | Ring | All Classes | Yes |
| Sirloin of the Bovine | Legs | All Classes | No |
| Arioc's Needle | 2H Polearm | Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn | Yes |
| Henri's Perquisition | Offhand Focus | Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock | Yes |
| In-Geom | 1H Sword | Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Sorcerer, Warlock | Yes |
| The Furnace | 2H Mace | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock | Yes |
| Messerschmidt's Reaver | 2H Axe | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock | No |
Where the grind outlasts the interest, Diablo IV boosting picks it up from wherever the account already stands.
Permanent on Both Seasonal and Eternal Realms
Blizzard’s phrasing is specific here: these nine items are “permanent additions to the game available on both Seasonal and Eternal realms,” even though Season 15 is the vehicle that introduces them. That matters for two groups of players. Eternal-realm characters, who never touch the seasonal questline or the Splinters of Evil system, still get access to the full roster of nine items — they’re not seasonal-only loot. The items are not tied to the length of the season: whether you play Season 15 or a later one, on Seasonal or Eternal, the nine remain available.
Charm Versions and Mythic Charms Explained
The six items marked in the table can also be made into Unique Charms, according to the Talisman section of the 3.2.1 patch notes. A Charm version is a second way to carry that item’s power: instead of occupying the weapon, ring or armor slot, the effect sits in a Talisman charm slot, which in practice means you can theoretically combine a Charm version of one of these six with a differently-sourced item in the matching gear slot. Blizzard’s overview doesn’t publish the actual Charm affix text or stat values for any of the six, so treat “it can be a Charm” as a confirmed mechanic without a confirmed number attached.
Separately, Blizzard’s “What’s Next” panel recap confirms that Mythic Charms exist and have a small chance to drop whenever a Unique charm drops. That is a statement about drops only: the recap does not say a Unique charm you already own can be turned into a Mythic version, and it does not name the Legacy Unique Charms specifically. Splinters of Evil and Soul Splinters are a separate system — see the Splinters guide.

The Three Tooltips Blizzard Has Shown

The overview includes one image with full tooltips for three of the nine, all shown at 900 Item Power, Requires Level 70, Unique Equipped. The unique powers as printed there:
- The Furnace (Ancestral Unique Two-Handed Mace): you deal [150–200]%[x] more damage to Elites; the rolled affixes on the shown item are Weapon Damage, Life on Kill, Resource Cost Reduction and a Lucky Hit chance to deal Fire damage.
- Stone of Jordan (Ancestral Unique Ring): your Resistances are each equal to your highest, and you deal [15–25]%[x] more damage of that Element; affixes shown are Strength, Life on Kill, Critical Strike Damage Multiplier and +[1–2] to All Skills.
- Henri’s Perquisition (Ancestral Unique Focus): you gain Primary Stat equal to [85–115]%[x] of your Dexterity; affixes shown are Weapon Damage, Dexterity, Intelligence and Maximum Life.
Two caveats. The image is a PTR-era capture: the Henri’s Perquisition card still shows a +2 Thorns line, and the 3.2.1 notes say an additional Thorns affix was removed from the item, so that line should be gone on live. And the numbers are the rolled values of one example item, not a range table for every roll.
What the 3.2.1 Patch Notes Imply About Each Item's Power
Beyond the three tooltips above, Blizzard’s overview doesn’t print affix text for the other six Legacy Uniques. What it does have are PTR bug-fix lines in the 3.2.1 patch notes that were written against each item’s intended behavior — which means the fix itself tells you something about what the item is supposed to do, even without a full tooltip. Below is what’s implied by a 3.2.1 fix line for six of the nine; the other three (Sirloin of the Bovine, Arioc’s Needle, The Furnace) have no bug-fix lines naming them in the notes reviewed.
In-Geom
A 3.2.1 fix line states the cooldown reduction “was 12 seconds instead of 15,” which is our reading that the item’s intended cooldown reduction value is 15 seconds.
Henri’s Perquisition
A fix line removed “an additional Thorns affix” the item was carrying, implying that extra Thorns roll was a bug rather than intended design.
Messerschmidt’s Reaver
A fix line corrected “incorrect class availability restrictions,” implying the class list in the table above — Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin and Warlock — reflects the fixed, intended restriction rather than the earlier PTR version.
Nemesis Bracers
A fix line addressed the Bracers failing to spawn “elite packs when interacting with a shrine,” implying that shrine-triggered elite spawn is the item’s intended function.
Stone of Jordan
A fix line corrected the ring not properly interacting “with Holy damage effects,” implying Stone of Jordan is intended to interact with Holy damage.
Leoric’s Crown
Three separate fix lines cover Leoric’s Crown: one for not applying Soul Splinter effects, one for not being enchantable at the Occultist, and one for its transmog not unlocking on salvage — all implying those three things are its intended, working behavior post-fix.
Hotfix 2, 17 September
Two post-launch fixes name these items directly, per Hotfix 2 (17 September 2026): Splinter of the Mother “would not correctly clear its stacks and Stun you when used with Leoric’s Crown” — fixed; and Messerschmidt’s Reaver “could heal enemies” — fixed. If you saw either on 15–17 September, that was the bug, not the design.
Note
None of the six write-ups above are affix tooltips — they’re inferences from what a bug-fix line says was broken.
What Isn't Confirmed Yet
Two things are not in the official overview, the 3.2.1 notes or the hotfixes we checked: the full affix and power text for six of the nine items (only The Furnace, Stone of Jordan and Henri’s Perquisition have a published tooltip), and any stated drop source or targetable farm method.
Upgrading a Legacy Unique to Mythic is a different case: the general rule is published. Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic keeps the item’s properties, and the one restriction Blizzard names is Unmodifiable items; no separate exception for Legacy Uniques is listed. Treat them as covered by the general rule and confirm the specific item in the recipe’s own interface — the Season 15 Horadric Cube recipes guide covers the recipe.
With no drop table or farm route in the sources we checked, there’s no honest hour estimate for “how long until I have the one I want”. The general Mythic-crafting and farming mechanics that do apply to Diablo 4’s wider Unique pool are covered in the Mythic Unique farming guide, which is a better starting point than guessing at a Legacy Unique-specific number that doesn’t exist yet.

The History Behind Three of the Nine
Blizzard’s overview attaches short lore lines to three items: Messerschmidt’s Reaver is described as the axe “said to have been borne by Prince Aidan himself when he first drove back Diablo.” Stone of Jordan gets the line that it’s “a ring so coveted it once served as currency,” a nod to its old reputation as the de facto trade item of Diablo 2. And Henri’s Perquisition is framed as a focus “formed when a cat’s curiosity collided with a magical ritual of old.”
Myth-Busting: Are There Really Only Nine Legacy Uniques?
The “10th item” claim
Several third-party sources, including a community item database, list a tenth item — variously named Squirt’s Blouse or Godly Plate of the Whale — as part of the Legacy Unique roster. Blizzard’s overview names nine — the nine in the table, which is also what shipped versus the PTR list. That is the official announcement, not proof that nothing else exists in the game; until Blizzard’s page adds a name, treat the tenth item as unverified.
“They only drop from Waking Nightmares”
Some community guides state that Legacy Uniques primarily drop from Season 15 Waking Nightmare encounters. That claim doesn’t appear in Blizzard’s official overview or the 3.2.1 patch notes, and other community sources disagree with each other on drop specifics — one item database records no fixed boss source at all for Leoric’s Crown, describing it instead as a general loot-pool drop. Neither claim is corroborated by Blizzard directly, so don’t plan a farming route around either one as if it were official.
Our Take: Do the Legacy Uniques Change Anything?
Our Take
The permanence is the real headline here, not the items themselves.
Nine new Uniques with a season is routine; nine that Eternal-realm characters get too is the part worth remembering. Right now this is a naming and slotting reference plus three official tooltips, not a build guide.
