ARC Raiders 1.42.0 went live on 18 August 2026, and the change that actually affects how you play is the switch from one global Map Condition schedule to a regional one. This guide walks through what that means for your play times, what Phantom Targets Part 2 adds on top of it, and what the anti-cheat section of the patch actually says about recent account bans.

Update 1.42.0 launched on 18 August 2026 and brought three things worth caring about: a rework of how Map Conditions get scheduled, the second phase of the Phantom Targets storyline, and a fresh round of anti-cheat enforcement. Starting with 1.42.0, Map Conditions have their schedule offset based on regions, instead of a single, global schedule, meaning the schedule shifts to fit specific regions’ peak hours to better match your experience. On the story side, thanks to the assistance of many Raiders, Shani finally pinpointed the source of the phantom targets: erratic Wasps, ARC units exhibiting behavior she’s never seen before — emitting strange noises, flying in irregular patterns, and carrying unidentifiable tech, all swarming towards one location. Separately, Embark made further tweaks to Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat systems, leading to action being taken against a large number of accounts flagged as using cheating software.

Previously, map conditions were set to rotate on a singular, global schedule, which meant players could miss out on certain conditions, including the recent Hurricane storm condition, if they didn’t log in at specific times. As of 1.42.0 that’s gone. Embark is switching to a regional map condition schedule, shifting peak hours to match regional playtimes instead of using one specific time for everyone. Practically: the window you memorized for a given condition on your server may no longer apply, because it’s now built around when your region actually plays, not a fixed universal clock.

One extra wrinkle worth flagging: regional scheduling also lets players switch servers to catch different map conditions, though doing so can bump network latency. Third-party tools and community map condition trackers are being updated to reflect the new regional timing, but if a website’s numbers look off, trust the in-game state first while trackers catch up to the change.

Tick Hunter Set

The Tick Hunter Set is now available in the shop as a bundle that includes Raider Coins, along with a Spider Tattoo, a Field Phone Backpack, and a Tick Trophy backpack charm. It’s a cosmetic bundle, not tied to Raider Project progress, so it sits separately from anything you earn through Phantom Targets Part 2.

Twitch Drops and the event clock

New Twitch drops went live alongside the patch: a Car Freshener and a Ceramic Vase. On the timing side, the second part of the Phantom Targets event will run for 19 days in total, so treat it as a limited window rather than something you can casually get back to whenever. One mechanical note worth knowing before you jump in: a later stage no longer requires players to collect items and instead asks them to use fireworks to deal damage to any airborne ARC unit.

Realistically, clearing every stage of Part 2 inside that 19-day window means budgeting a real chunk of raid time across it, not a single sitting — between hunting the erratic Wasps for components and finishing the fireworks objective, this isn’t a five-minute checklist item. Over the past few weeks Embark has been making improvements alongside Anybrain and Denuvo Anti-Cheat, resulting in swift action being taken against a large number of accounts that were using recently popularized cheating software. No specific ban figure was published, and there isn’t one worth guessing at here. Embark also confirmed it’s working on ensuring permanent sanctions for serial, blatant cheaters, and continuing efforts to make it harder for banned players to simply obtain new accounts. Detection for accounts tied to economy exploits has also improved, allowing offenders to be sanctioned more quickly.

The part players should actually act on is the warning about third-party tools themselves. Embark warned against downloading unverified or unofficial software, since doing so can potentially lead to personal information exposure as well as an account ban. In plain terms: claims made by cheat sellers about what their tools do are frequently false, and installing that software risks a lot more than getting caught mid-raid.

If you play at odd hours relative to a global clock, this patch is a net win: conditions are now built around your region’s actual peak times instead of a schedule that favored whoever was online at one fixed hour worldwide.
