About Resources & Items
No Man’s Sky resources and items, delivered by the stack
Big projects in No Man’s Sky — a corvette, a freighter base, an orbital base from COSMOS — are measured in stacks, and a stack is the game’s own cap for an item: 9,999 for most raw elements, less for crafted products. Here you name the item and the number of full stacks, the trader joins your session as a friend, and the stacks are traded across at a space station while you watch.
Three items have their own pages because they are their own grinds. Salvaged Data feeds the Construction Research Station on the Space Anomaly and is otherwise dug out of buried modules a handful at a time. Tainted Metal is the scrap derelict freighters yield. Void Motes are the currency the Autophage take. Everything else — activated indium, stasis devices, magnetised ferrite, whatever the blueprint asks for — goes through the by-the-stack page.
Multiplayer must be enabled. Payment is held until the stacks are in your inventory.
