The opening kit exists because Mortal Shell 2 does not explain its economy and then charges you for the misunderstanding. Gloom, Shell Points, Glimpses and Tarstones all look like currency, all come from different places, and spending the wrong one at the wrong moment is the most common way a first run stalls.
This pack covers the opening stretch: enough of each to reach the point where you are choosing upgrades rather than rationing them, plus the early Shell work that makes the first hard fight survivable.
