Prestigio is the post-level-25 system that lets you keep progressing a Class after it hits the level cap, instead of just sitting there with nothing left to grind. The Prestige system allows you to continue empowering your Class even after reaching the maximum level. It exists because Space Marine 2’s Class levels are capped at 25, and once you’re there the only way to keep earning anything on that Class is to reset it and start climbing again in exchange for a permanent bonus perk. It’s a per-Class system — you prestige Bulwark, Vanguard, Assault, Tactical, Heavy, Sniper or Techmarine individually, not your account as a whole.

En resumen

  • Unlocks at Class level 25, activated from the Armouring Hall for a Requisition Points cost.
  • Resets that Class’s level to 1 and wipes its purchased Class perks — you rebuy them.
  • Weapon levels, other Classes, and your unlocked cosmetics are not touched.
  • Up to 4 prestige ranks per Class, each granting a permanent perk and a stacking XP bonus.
  • Patch 15 (1 October 2026) replaced the Tactical prestige perk Exigency Charge with Passive Chambering, and its new Crucible mode is open only to Level 25 classes, so a class you prestige is shut out of Crucible until it is back at 25.

Where to Get Prestige in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Prestige isn’t hidden behind a vendor or a special mission — it’s a menu toggle you earn by playing the Class normally. In order to prestige in Space Marine 2, players must have reached Level 25 on any character, then enter the Armoring Hall to select the Perk Customisation option, where at the bottom of the page there is an Unlock Prestige Level section. From there players can prestige for 100 Requisition Points, and if players are short on Requisition Points, a vendor in the Armoring Hall sells them for Armory Data. This is the same hub where you manage the Class perk trees and cosmetics tied to that Class, so it’s worth getting familiar with the layout before you commit a prestige reset. If you’re still deciding which Class to invest hours into first, a class tier list is the better read for combat performance — this guide only covers what happens once you’ve picked one and hit the cap.

Step-by-Step: How to Prestige a Class

Sigue estos pasos para hacerlo rápidamente.

  1. 1

    Hit Class level 25

level any single Class to its current cap through Operations, Stratagems or Siege — the three PvE modes share one class ladder; Eternal War has its own PvP level and does not count toward it.

  2. 2

    Open the Armouring Hall

head to the social hub area and select the Perk Customisation menu for that Class.

  3. 3

Find the Unlock Prestige Level section

it sits at the bottom of the Perk Customisation page once you're eligible.

  4. 4

    Pay the Requisition Points cost

at Level 25, players can prestige for 100 Requisition Points, buying more from the Armory Data vendor if you're short.

  5. 5

    Choose your Prestige Perk

once you exchange the Requisition Points for Prestige, you choose a perk for Prestige Perk Slot 1 from a pool of 7 Prestige Perks per Class, and there's no going back once it's been exchanged.

  6. 6

    Re-level and repeat

the process can be repeated up to four times to get four active Prestige Perks simultaneously, each time grinding that Class back from 1 to 25.

What Resets and What Stays When You Prestige

This is the part everyone searches for before committing, and it’s a fair worry — the reset is real, but it’s narrower than the panic threads make it sound.

What Resets

Whenever you unlock a new prestige perk, it resets your character level to 1, meaning if you want all 4 prestige levels/perks, you have to re-level your character to 25 four times. Alongside the level reset, resetting a class removes previously unlocked perks, requiring players to repurchase them from the standard Class perk tree — that’s separate Requisition spend on top of the prestige activation cost itself.

What Stays the Same

Weapons are unaffected by a prestige reset — your weapon mastery levels carry over untouched. The Prestige Perk itself is also permanent once earned: Hitting Prestige provides players with new opportunities to earn their perks, along with the advantages of having an exclusive and permanent perk associated with prestige. Other Classes you haven’t touched stay exactly where they are, and cosmetics, Requisition, and Armory Data you’ve already banked aren’t wiped.

Advertencia

Only the Class perk tree and that Class’s level reset. Do not confuse this with account-wide progress — nothing about a prestige reset touches your other six Classes, your weapons, or your cosmetic unlocks.

Best Prestige Leveling Methods

Once you’ve decided to push a Class through prestige, the fastest route is whatever gets you consistent XP per match without wasting time on failed runs. Player reports vary by difficulty and squad quality, so treat the numbers below as a rough baseline rather than a guarantee.

25Class level cap per pass
4Max prestige ranks
100Requisition to activate

If you’re weighing prestige against the option of just grinding the same Operation loop, the difficulty guide covering Lethal and Absolute is the better resource for which missions actually reward the most XP per run — this section is only about which mode of play gets you there.

MethodSpeedEffortBest for
Absolute difficulty Operations, full squadFastHighPlayers who already know the Operation and can carry pace — one veteran’s account puts a prestige pass on Absolute at 5 to 6 matches; no official figure exists
Ruthless or Lethal OperationsModerateMediumSquads that want good XP without Absolute’s punishing enemy density
Daily StratagemsSame XP as the Operation they run on, Accolades on topMedium — conditions can bitePlayers who want Heroic gear currency while they re-level
Siege Mode wave survivalModerateMediumPlayers who prefer scaling horde combat over scripted missions; class XP is shared with Operations
Solo Operations with bot alliesSlowLowOff-hours grinding when you can’t find a squad

Prestige Rewards and What You Unlock

The headline reward is the perk itself: to unlock a Prestige Perk you reach level 25 and reset its progress, and this can be repeated up to four times to get four active Prestige Perks simultaneously. On top of that, each prestige rank increases XP gain by 10%, and that bonus stacks, so a Class at full Prestige 4 is earning noticeably more XP than a fresh level-25 Class on the same missions. Progressing your Prestige ranks also grants unique cosmetic rewards for each rank you unlock. Once you’ve unlocked all four ranks, the grind eases slightly: multiple players report that reaching Prestige 4 lets you reselect your four perks for a Requisition Points fee instead of resetting the whole Class again — figures circulating in the community land around 750 Requisition Points, though that’s not an official patch-note number, so treat it as a reported cost rather than a locked-in figure.

Anyone who would rather not spend the evenings on it can hand Boosting de Space Marine 2 to our crew instead — same account, same progress, played by hand.

Patch 15: Tactical's New Prestige Perk and Crucible at Level 25

Patch 15.0 (1 October 2026) touches prestige in two ways.

Tactical: Exigency Charge is gone

As part of the Tactical class rework, the notes replace the prestige perk Exigency Charge with Passive Chambering: “Any unequipped Ranged Weapon reloads automatically after 10 seconds”. If you picked Exigency Charge on a Tactical, check the Perk Customisation screen. It is the only prestige perk the Patch 15.0 notes change; the other six classes’ prestige perks are not listed as changed.

Crucible needs a Level 25 class

Crucible is the new endgame PvE mode, “available for Level 25 classes”. You launch it through PvE Operations, apply Penances (debuffs) to yourself and earn Crucible XP and customisation rewards; it uses its own matchmaking pool. Per the September Community Update, Crucible XP goes only to the class you play, Penances come in 6 tiers, and the class’s Crucible progression unlocks the Lamenters armour set for that class. Hotfix 15.1 (8 October 2026) closed a bug that let a player below Level 25 into a Crucible mission when two Level 25 players entered the ready zone.

Our reading of the two rules together: prestige puts a class back to level 1, so that class cannot enter Crucible until you level it to 25 again. If you want both, run the Crucible tiers on a class before you prestige it, or prestige a class you are not using in Crucible.

Common Misconceptions About Space Marine 2 Prestige

Myth: Prestiging Wipes Your Weapon Progress

It doesn’t. Weapons are unaffected by the reset — only the Class’s own level and its Class perk tree get rolled back. If you’ve sunk time into mastering a specific bolter or chainsword, that progress is safe regardless of how many times you prestige.

Myth: You Can Swap Prestige Perks Whenever You Want

Not until you’ve finished the climb. According to the in-game warning shown when you first select a prestige perk, you can’t change selected perks until you’ve prestiged all 4 times. Pick your first three ranks with that in mind — you’re locked into each choice for the rest of the grind to Prestige 4.

Myth: Prestige Numbers Have Never Changed

They have. The system itself launched with Update 7.0, and specific perks inside it have already been reworked since — for example, one Master-Crafted tier perk was pulled and replaced outright in a later patch, and Patch 15 replaced the Tactical prestige perk Exigency Charge with Passive Chambering. Whatever cost or perk list you read today should be double-checked against the current patch, not assumed permanent.

Our Take: Is Prestige Worth It?

Nuestra opinión

Worth it for your one or two main Classes, skippable for the rest.

The math is straightforward once you strip out the forum outrage: a stacking XP bonus and a genuinely strong permanent perk are real, useful rewards, and the reset only touches Class level and Class perks — not weapons, not other Classes, not your cosmetics. That’s a much smaller loss than the phrase “full reset” implies on first read.

Where it gets genuinely grindy is doing this on every Class. Re-leveling one Class four times is a commitment; doing it for all seven is a serious time investment, and player accounts of the process range from tolerable to exhausting depending on squad quality and difficulty. If you main Bulwark or Tactical and live in Operations, chasing full Prestige 4 makes sense. If you rotate Classes for variety, level 25 with a couple of purchased perks already gets you the build that matters in combat — the prestige perk is a nice-to-have bonus, not a requirement to stay competitive.

One more note on timing: this guide reflects Patch 15 (1 October 2026) and Hotfix 15.1 (8 October). Patch 15 changed one prestige perk, and Crucible gives a reason to keep a main Class at 25 — check the current patch before you commit a Class to a reset.

Preguntas frecuentes

What Class level do I need to prestige?
Players must have reached Level 25 on any character before the prestige option becomes available for that Class in the Armouring Hall.
Does prestige reset my weapons or other Classes?
No. Weapons are unaffected, and the reset only applies to the specific Class you choose to prestige — your other Classes and their perks stay exactly as they were.
How many prestige ranks are there?
A Class can get up to 4 active Prestige Perks simultaneously, meaning four full re-levels from 1 to 25 if you want every rank on that Class.
Is prestige worth it if I just want to clear Operations?
Not strictly. Level 25 with a filled-out Class perk tree is enough for high-difficulty Operations. Prestige adds a stacking XP bonus and one extra permanent perk per rank, which helps if you're grinding a lot anyway, but it isn't required to be effective in co-op play.
Can I change my prestige perk choice later?
You can't change selected perks until you've prestiged all 4 times on that Class, after which players report being able to reselect perks for a Requisition Points fee rather than resetting again. Check the latest patch notes before committing a Class to a prestige reset.
Can I play Crucible after I prestige a Class?
Not straight away. Patch 15 opens Crucible only to Level 25 classes, and prestige resets that Class to level 1, so it can enter Crucible again once it is back at 25. Your other Classes are not affected.
What happened to the Tactical prestige perk Exigency Charge?
Patch 15.0 (1 October 2026) replaced it with Passive Chambering: any unequipped ranged weapon reloads automatically after 10 seconds. It is the only prestige perk the Patch 15.0 notes change.
