Flame level 11 is the final Flame level in Enshrouded 1.0, and it is the level at which your Flame Altars can push back the Shroud. Keen Games released 1.0 on 15 October 2026, and hotfixes 1.0.0.1 (15 October) and 1.0.0.2 (16 October) followed.

En resumen

  • Per Keen Games’ 1.0 changelog (14 October 2026), Flame level 11 is the final level, and it is what lets Flame Altars push back the Shroud.
  • The altar limit is 15 before Cinder’s Cradle and 16 once Flame level 11 is unlocked.
  • Fell Vultures drop more Enshrouded Vulture Talons for the next Flame level, and the recipes for levels 6 – 9 were made cheaper.
  • The changelog gives no per-level material table; the level 10 and 11 lists below are community-tested data.
  • An altar cannot be picked up. Back up the save, place a new altar, grow its area over everything you keep, and only then extinguish the old one.

Two different upgrades

  • Strengthen the Flame raises the Flame level of the whole world, from 1 to 11. It sets the altar cap and, at 11, lets your altars push back the Shroud. You do it once for the world, not per base.
  • Upgrading one altar enlarges the build area of that base only. Community planner data from Early Access lists four altar levels, from a 40 m to a 160 m edge; our base building guide has the numbers. A new altar starts from the first level again.

What Flame Level 11 Does in Enshrouded 1.0

Keen Games’ 1.0 changelog on Steam says Flame level 11 is the final level, and unlocking it is what allows Flame Altars to push back the Shroud. The same changelog says the required level can instead be lowered to any level through the world settings. It also sets the maximum number of Flame Altars in the world at 16 when level 11 is unlocked. Before entering Cinder’s Cradle, the next Flame level is waiting to be unlocked, and that one raises the cap to 15. The changelog’s highlights call that earlier upgrade only “the next Flame Level”; community guides number it level 10.

What Strengthening the Flame Changes

Enshrouded official screenshot
Official screenshot: Keen Games, Enshrouded Steam store page

You raise the Flame through the Strengthen the Flame menu at a Flame Altar, according to an in-game walkthrough on allthings.how (community guide, tested on 1.0.0.0). In that menu, the level 11 preview shows Shroud Removal switching from No to Yes, altar activation capacity rising from 15 to 16, Shroud Passage Level moving to 11 and the Character Attribute bonus going from 9 to 10. Those four values are community observations, not figures from the changelog.

The changelog adds one official side effect: each time the Flame is upgraded, the armor sets for the following crafting tier unlock automatically. It also raised the player level cap to 50 and the equipment level cap to 55 when fully upgraded. Skill points and the 1.0 skill reset are covered in our Enshrouded 1.0 max level, skill points and tree reset guide.

Flame Level Requirements: What Is Documented

Keen Games’ changelog does not print a per-material table for levels 1 – 11. It does say that the recipes for levels 6, 7, 8 and 9 need smaller amounts, and that Electric Organs and Poison Stings were replaced with more common resources. It also says Fell Vultures now drop more Enshrouded Vulture Talons, to make collecting them for the next Flame level a little easier. For exact numbers, community guides tested on 1.0.0.0 list the last two upgrades below. Treat them as community data and check the live Strengthen the Flame list, which shows your current amount against the required amount for each line.

The Broken Guard of the North Crown for the level 10 upgrade comes from the Cromville Throne Room as part of the Crown of Sorrow quest, per MetaForge. The two Vorgoth items on the level 11 list are listed as drops from Vorgoth, which fits the changelog’s framing of level 11 as the upgrade after the final boss.

The last tier has a hard gate: two of its items come only from Vorgoth, the final boss. We have no timed run of the climb from level 1 to 11, so we give no hours figure.

The full lists, as community guides tested them on 1.0.0.0 (allthings.how; MetaForge for level 10):

  • Level 10: 16 survivors; Spark ×60; Drak Blood ×30; Daylily ×30; Gleam Root Dust ×15; Piscine Ivory Dust ×10; Shroud Sludge ×10; Broken Guard of the North Crown ×1.
  • Level 11: 18 survivors, each with a Sheltered Bed; Diamond Dust ×20; Spark ×20; Moonstone ×15; Ember Carapace ×15; Celestium Bars ×10; one Vorgoth’s Eye and one Vorgoth’s Bound Essence.

Keen has not published these lists. The 1.0 changelog only says the level 6 – 9 recipes got cheaper, so check the live Strengthen the Flame menu before you farm.

If the hours are the obstacle rather than the fight itself, Enshrouded boosting is run hands-on by a booster from your region.

Flame Levels 10 and 11 and Cinder's Cradle

Adventurer looking toward a volcanic biome beyond the Shroud in Enshrouded

Level 10 is the step into Cinder’s Cradle: a community guide reports that the Ancient Gate between Cromville Hot Spring and Lake Luma opens at Flame level 10. Level 11 comes later, once Vorgoth is beaten: Keen’s changelog hints that beating the biggest threat to Embervale unlocks the last Flame level. It is a finishing upgrade, not an entry ticket.

For levels 2 – 9 we do not print a biome table. The tables we found are Early Access data, skip levels and mix access to a region with protection from its Shroud. The preview of the next level in the Strengthen the Flame menu shows what it changes in your world.

How to Move a Flame Altar: The Safe Order

No move procedure from Keen Games was found in the pages checked. Community reports say an altar cannot be picked up, and a recent third-party wiki describes the workaround as placing a new altar and extinguishing the old one. The order below is the safest one those reports allow; we have not yet checked it in the 1.0 client, so keep the save copy until you have looked over the base. It covers moving an altar within the same base. Moving the base to another region is a different job, covered in our base building guide.

Advertencia

Community reports say structures and items inside an extinguished altar’s boundary can be lost if no new altar covers them. This is player-reported across versions, not an official warning, so place and check the new altar before you extinguish anything.

What carries over to the new altar

The overall Flame level stays the same, because the Flame upgrade progress belongs to the world and not to one altar, per a Steam Community discussion and Sportskeeda.

What resets

The build-range upgrades are tied to the individual altar and must be earned again on the new one.

What is not refunded

A community reply in the same Steam thread says no materials come back from removing an altar.

Every condition comes before the old altar goes out.

  1. 1

    Back up the world save

Copy the save before you start, so you can go back if something is lost.

  2. 2

Check you have a free altar slot

The new altar has to fit under the cap: 15 before Cinder's Cradle, 16 at Flame level 11.

  3. 3

    Place the new altar

Put it where its area can cover the structures and chests you want to keep.

  4. 4

Grow the new altar's area first

A new altar starts at its first level. If its area does not reach everything you keep, upgrade it now, before touching the old one.

  5. 5

    Check coverage

Walk the base and confirm every structure and chest you keep is inside the new altar's area.

  6. 6

    Extinguish the old altar

Only now, with the new area in place and checked.

  7. 7

    Check the result

Look over the base. If anything is missing, restore the save copy.

What the Sources Do Not Say

  • Exact material quantities for Flame levels 1 – 11 are not printed in the changelog; the level 10 and 11 lists above are community data.
  • The changelog gives no official step-by-step for moving an altar, and it does not name the world setting that lowers the Shroud pushback level.
  • A checked level-to-biome map for levels 2 – 9 in 1.0, and the material lists for levels 1 – 9.
  • The changelog’s highlights text writes “the next Flame Level” for the pre-Cradle upgrade, so the number 10 comes from community guides.

Nuestra opinión

Level 11 is a late-game finish line, not a mid-game goal.

Going by the changelog, the final level sits after the last boss and mainly adds altar room (16) and Shroud pushback, so most of your day-to-day progress comes from the earlier levels. Our reading: use the in-game Strengthen the Flame list as the live source for amounts, and treat any frozen table, including the ones above, as a snapshot of 1.0.0.0.
