WARDOGS levels you on two scales at once: an account-wide WARDOG (Career) level and the role tracks, which level from what you play in a given life. The Season 2 patch notes name all of them: WARDOG, Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Pilot and Driver. Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 as Update 0.2.0 and replaced the slow Season 1 curve with a much faster one. Two days later Bulkhead said the speed-up was the wrong call, so the numbers below may change again. This guide covers the Season 2 curve, which actions feed which track, the unlocks that moved, what Update 0.1.2 closed, and what BULKHEAD still hasn’t published.
En resumen
- WARDOG (Career) is the account-wide level; six role tracks (Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Pilot, Driver) level separately from what you use in a life. How WARDOG relates to them is not published.
- Season 2 (15 October 2026) cut the role-track XP needed at every published level from 10 to 50; Bulkhead estimates level 20 now takes less than half the Season 1 playtime.
- On 17 October Bulkhead called the faster progression the wrong call and said it is looking at bringing Season 3 forward.
- Some XP now goes to different tracks: destroying buildables and IED/C4 feed Assault, artillery feeds Driver, repairs feed Driver or Pilot.
- Unlocks moved on every track, among them the Medical Bag to Medic 14, the PKM to Support 15 and the new TCX-SPR at Assault 20.
- The Lonestar XP bonus in the patch notes was removed on launch day.
- Update 0.1.2 closed four reward exploits, and joining a server BULKHEAD tracks as an XP farm for more than a few minutes is a permanent ban.

What Is the WARDOG Level and the Role Tracks in WARDOGS?
Your account-wide level, called WARDOG in the patch notes and often Career elsewhere, sits alongside the role tracks, which level up according to what you’re carrying or driving during a match rather than a class you pick from a menu. The Season 2 notes list unlocks under seven named tracks: WARDOG, Assault, Medic, Recon, Support, Pilot and Driver. They give a role-track XP table but no XP table for WARDOG and no formula between the two; outside trackers describe WARDOG as the combined total of the tracks, so treat that as community modelling, not a published rule. Unlocks are gated by whichever track reaches the required level, so the track you play the most is the one that unlocks fastest.
For a deeper breakdown of how each track actually levels during a match, the site’s role tracks explainer covers what loadout choices push which track.
| Pista | What It Covers | Season 2 XP Change |
|---|---|---|
| WARDOG (Career) | Account-wide level; gates sidearms, ammo, Level 3 armour and the Gold Market | No XP table published for it |
| Driver | Ground vehicles | Now also gets artillery XP and XP for repairing ground vehicles |
| Pilot | Air vehicles | Now gets XP for repairing air vehicles |
| Medic | Healing-focused loadout gear | No XP routing change listed |
| Soporte | LMGs, launchers and building tools | Lost buildable-kill, IED/C4, artillery and repair XP to other tracks |
| Assault | Assault rifles, C4 and the Molotov; attacking enemy bases | Now gets XP for destroying buildables and for IED/C4 |
| Recon | Marksman and sniper rifles, scopes | No XP routing change listed |
How XP Works: The Season 2 XP Curve
BULKHEAD explained the change in the Season 2 patch notes: levels 10 to 20 were a slow grind, and many players stalled before unlocking the gear that defines each role. Bulkhead says reaching level 20 now takes “less than half the playtime” it did in Season 1. That is the studio’s estimate; the notes publish XP thresholds, not hours.
Read the change column as XP required, not time: how fast you get there still depends on how much XP you earn, and Season 2 also changed XP rewards. The cut is deepest around levels 15 and 20 and shrinks toward level 50, so the curve still steepens past 20 and the top unlocks remain a long grind. Level 50 is the highest row published; no track cap has been confirmed.
Note
These numbers may not last. On 17 October Bulkhead said speeding up progression was “the wrong call”, because some players reached Tier 4 armour and main battle tanks within days. It will fix what is clearly out of balance and will not reset that weekend; instead it is looking at bringing Season 3 forward, with details in a dev vlog the following week.
| Nivel | Season 1 Cumulative XP | Season 2 Cumulative XP | XP Needed vs Season 1 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 35,000 | 25,000 | −29% |
| 15 | 110,000 | 54,750 | −50% |
| 20 | 250,000 | 111,500 | −55% |
| 25 | 365,000 | 206,600 | −43% |
| 30 | 500,000 | 318,200 | −36% |
| 35 | 750,000 | 525,000 | −30% |
| 40 | 975,000 | 712,500 | −27% |
| 45 | 1,225,000 | 920,850 | −25% |
| 50 | 1,500,000 | 1,150,000 | −23% |

Where the Season 2 Curve Gets Expensive
The chart above shows Season 1, drawn from the Season 1 changelog. Its totals above level 20 differ from the Season 1 column in the Season 2 notes (for example 325,000 against 365,000 at level 25); the table uses the Season 2 notes.
Measured step by step, the cheap part of the curve now ends at level 20. From the published thresholds, 10 → 15 costs 29,750 XP and 15 → 20 costs 56,750, the stretch that cost 140,000 in Season 1. After that the steps grow: 20 → 25 costs 95,100, 25 → 30 costs 111,600 and 30 → 35 costs 206,800. These step costs are our arithmetic from Bulkhead’s table, and the notes give no hours figure for anything past level 20.
Where Players Stall: Levels 9, 14 and 20
Bulkhead explained why the Season 2 cut targets this stretch in the first episode of its official podcast, THE HOTZONE, Ep 1 “The Wipe” (24 October 2026). In Season 1 about 70,000 players reached level 35, and the developers say “it wasn’t the speed”: players quit at two walls, levels 9 and 14 (33:16). In their view a role “comes online at level 20”, when a medic, for example, gets the med bag back, and they framed the problem as “if 1.8 million players are quitting at level 14 because it just gets too grindy” (34:13). These are figures spoken in a conversation, not published statistics.
The same episode calls the system “fundamentally broken” because the career level does not show role level: one player took 74 hours to reach level 70 and Level 3 armour playing Assault and Medic, while another got the same armour by taking every role to level 12 in about 3 hours (34:40). Bulkhead says it is working on something better but has not said what changes in Season 3. The XP thresholds for levels 9 and 14, and which armour each role level unlocks, are not in the episode.
What the Curve Does After Level 35
From level 35 the steps settle into a narrow band: 35 → 40 costs 187,500 XP, 40 → 45 costs 208,350 and 45 → 50 costs 229,150. The Season 2 cut is also smallest up here, so the top of each track is still built for players who grind.
Each Season Gets a Different XP Curve
The Season 1 changelog said so directly: “Each season we will have a different XP curve with different item orders.” Season 2 did exactly that, and the 17 October post (in the note above the table) suggests the Season 2 curve may not last the season. A leveling plan built on any of these numbers has a shelf life of one season, possibly less, and on 24 October Bulkhead said Season 2 itself will end early, after roughly four to five weeks instead of six to eight.
Anyone who would rather not spend the evenings on it can hand Boosting de WARDOGS to our crew instead — same account, same progress, played by hand.
Which Actions Earn XP in WARDOGS?
The Season 1 changelog changed two per-action XP values: a player kill from an air vehicle went from 300 to 250 XP, and selling a supply-crate item worth under $75 went from 25 XP to just 1 XP. The Season 2 notes are the first to print XP for specific actions (see the Season 2 section below), but a revive, a spot, a ground-vehicle kill or a Control Zone tick still has no published XP value. The XP table is a list of cumulative level thresholds, not a rate of earning. The Career level has no published XP table; BULKHEAD has not said how it accrues, and the community reading that it is the sum of the track levels is unverified.
Team17’s own page says teamplay actions — reviving allies, transporting teammates, spotting, kills and holding the Control Zone — are rewarded; our money guide covers the cash side. No official source ties a specific XP number to any of those actions, and cash rewards are not evidence of XP rewards: the two are separate counters.
Why the Crate-Sale XP Cut Matters
The supply-crate cut is close to a removal rather than a trim: anyone clearing out low-value crate drops for a quick trickle of XP lost almost all of it at once. It landed in the same patch as the loadout buy order economy changes, which raised vendor prices across several categories including the Forward Operating Base and the Large Hammer. Read together, the changelog pushes players away from treating crate junk as a leveling shortcut and back toward earning XP through the match itself. Season 2 goes further: sales from a supply crate now have diminishing returns per buyer until they pay no profit and no XP, and selling to an enemy player pays nothing.
Update 0.1.2: The XP Shortcuts That No Longer Work
Update 0.1.2 (30 September 2026) lists the cash and XP exploits it fixed, so a route built on any of them is gone:
- Revives: revive validity checks are now fully server authoritative, which makes them harder to abuse. Real revives still count as teamplay.
- Vehicle fly-through: the exploit is fixed and its rewards are now capped.
- Destroying buildables: rewards scale with build progress, so destroying a placed schematic no longer gives a full reward.
- Pallets: depositing pallets into a FOB outside the zone now gives reduced rewards.
The same notes end the grace period. Players caught abusing cash and XP exploits, or real-money trading, have had their cash and progression reset, and from now on players “risk being permanently banned without warning” for abusing repeatable unintended exploits. What is left is the curve above: level the track you play, in the Control Zone, and skip the two nerfed shortcuts below. Season 2 closes more loopholes: spotting rewards on unfinished buildables now scale with build progress, and barbed wire no longer pays cash or XP for kills.
What Season 2 Changed for Leveling (Update 0.2.0)
Besides the curve and the XP routing in the track table above, the Season 2 patch notes change what pays XP:
- Bases: hacking a FOB now pays 250 XP to teammates in the FOB radius as well as to the hacker, and destroying a FOB pays up to +250 XP based on the supplies it held.
- Logistics: base rewards are lower, but delivery streaks add XP for every consecutive run: +50 XP per crate and +100 XP per pallet in a row (up to 10), +5 XP per player delivered (up to 25) and +25 XP per return trip (up to 10).
- Drill towers: capturing a hostile one pays 300 XP (was 250).
- Vehicles: destroying an armed variant gives 1.5x the XP of the default variant.
- Spotting: rewards are about 30% lower than in Season 1 and now scale with the value of the target.
One part of the patch notes did not survive launch day. On 15 October the official WARDOGS account removed the Lonestar cash and XP win bonus and teamplay multipliers, so picking a faction is no longer a leveling choice. The same update fixed driver progression and an exploit that let many players reach tanks too early.
Step-by-Step: Working Toward Level 20 in Season 2

Advertencia
BULKHEAD says it tracks every server an account enters and knows which ones exist purely to farm XP. If your account is tracked joining one of those servers for more than a few minutes, the ban is permanent — there’s no warning tier for this one, unlike the timed ban and cash/XP reset applied to cash-exploit abuse.
Two different goals, two different plans. Pick yours first; the steps below cover both. Everything here is built on the published changelog and Team17's description of what pays — where an action is our reading rather than a documented XP source, it says so.

1
Decide: one item on one track, or the Career total?
If you want a specific unlock (the T-72B3 at Driver 20, the Medical Bag at Medic 14, the PKM at Support 15), you level that one track and nothing else matters. If you want the Career (Wardog) number itself, remember that BULKHEAD has not published how it accrues (outside trackers model it as the sum of the tracks) — and the first levels of every track are the cheapest in the table (level 10 at 25,000 XP). Spreading early sessions across two or three tracks is our reading of that maths, not a measured "fastest" route.
-
2
Load out for the track you are levelling
Tracks level from what you carry or drive in a life (per the changelog's track-by-track unlock headers and our role tracks explainer). Driver: move squads and supplies, and repair ground vehicles; Pilot: fly transport before you chase air kills, and repair aircraft; Medic: revives; Support: LMGs, hammer and Forward Operating Base builds, resupply; Recon: spot with binoculars; Assault: rifle, the objective, C4 and enemy buildables. Most of these actions still have no published XP value; the Season 2 numbers that exist are listed above.
-
3
Play inside the Control Zone, and treat the Hot Zone as a tactical call
Holding the zone is on Team17's list of rewarded actions. The Hot Zone doubles team presence and cash per BULKHEAD; nothing published says it doubles XP, so go there for the win and the money, not on the assumption it levels you faster.
-
4
Skip the two nerfed shortcuts
Selling supply-crate items under $75 now pays 1 XP (was 25) and air-vehicle kills pay 250 (was 300). Neither is worth building a session around any more.
-
5
Check the result on the armoury screen, not the scoreboard
Locked items show the track and level that unlocks them; note your track levels before a session and after it. Three sessions give you your own rate — the only XP-per-hour figure that is real, because BULKHEAD does not publish one.
-
6
Level only on official servers or community servers you know
BULKHEAD tracks every server you enter; more than a few minutes on a server it classes as an XP farm is a permanent ban. Our community servers guide covers how to tell them apart.

Milestone Unlocks Worth Leveling For in Season 2
Season 2 moved unlocks on every track, and a few of them are worth knowing before you decide which track to grind first. The table below lists the moves that matter most for leveling, from the patch notes. Read the level as the gate, not the price: reaching it makes the item available in the armoury; most items are then bought with cash each life at the vendor price (the money guide covers how cash works).

|---|---|---|
| WARDOG | Gold Market | 35 ($150k to unlock) |
| WARDOG | Deagle | 65 (was 85) |

| Assault | Remote Detonator + C4 Charge | 4 (was Support 2) |
| Assault | Molotov Cocktail | 13 ($25k to unlock) |
| Assault | TCX-SPR | 20 ($100k to unlock) |
| Assault | M4 | 28 (was 20) |
| Medic | PP-19 Bizon | Unlocked by default |

| Soporte | Evo-3 Ultra | 30 ($200k to unlock) |
| Pilot | Little Bird AH-6M [Miniguns] | 8 (was 4); $125k to unlock (was $50k) |
| Driver | Wolf-110 [M2 Browning] | 16 ($125k to unlock) |
| Driver | T-72B3 | 20 ($250k to unlock) |
| Driver | Flakpanzer Gepard | 25 ($300k to unlock) |
| Driver | SPH-2 | 31 (was WARDOG 90) |
Myth-Busting: What Isn't Actually Confirmed About Leveling
“Role tracks cap at level 100 and the account caps at 600”
This number circulates on community wikis and guide sites, but it is not in BULKHEAD’s own changelog. At least one community hub directly disputes it, pointing to unlock tables that list items up to Wardog level 150 with role-track unlocks stopping at 50 in their own data — a level cap simply hasn’t been published, and the 100/600 figure should be treated as unconfirmed rather than fact.
“The Patch 0.11 5% bonus speeds up leveling”
Patch 0.11 — announced 12 September 2026 and applied during the 14 September 08:00 UTC maintenance — added a community-server bonus described in the official post as a 5% end-of-match cash bonus. Nothing in that post ties the bonus to XP — it’s cash only, as written.
“Bulkhead has published exact XP values for every action”
The Season 1 notes changed only two per-action XP values, and the Season 2 notes add XP for FOB hacks, logistics streaks and drill towers. Revives, spots and ground kills still have no published XP number.
Our Take: Is the Season 2 Grind Worth Pushing Through?
Nuestra opinión
Season 2 makes the first 20 levels of a track quick; the grind now starts after 30, and Bulkhead may slow things down again.
In Season 1 BULKHEAD said the top-tier gear was meant for the top 5% who grind. Season 2 keeps that idea and moves the cheap part of the curve up: the role-defining gear around level 20 is now within reach for most players, and the top of each track still is not. The open question is how long that lasts. Bulkhead has said the speed-up went too far, so a level-20 target on a track is cheaper now than it may be after the next change.
