The next big change in The Division 2 lands on November 3, 2026: the Echoes of Central Park DLC launches, and Red Horizon’s Red Moon Rising event ends the same day. Crossplay arrives in November, and Year 9 is confirmed but not yet detailed. That makes the next three weeks the prep window, and the work is the same as before any season: clean house, bank resources and finish half-done projects so launch day is spent playing.
Stash cleanup, Recalibration Library completion and a material reserve are the three priorities that matter. Everything else is optional. What the DLC itself contains is in our Echoes of Central Park explainer; this page only covers getting your account ready.
Updated October 11, 2026 — re-aimed at November 3
This guide was first written for the run-up to Red Horizon, which has been live since August 27. It now targets November 3, when Echoes of Central Park launches; the dates to plan around are under “Deadlines Before November 3” below, and the season itself is covered in our Red Horizon season guide.
Mejora de atributos
Attributes on gear you already own recalibrated toward the build you name, done on your account.
La respuesta breve
If you only have a week: make room in your stash (run the checks below before you dismantle anything), store the best rolls of the core attributes, attributes and talents your builds use in the Recalibration Library, and top up the materials you craft and recalibrate with. That covers most of what a new DLC or season asks for.
If you have the full three weeks to November 3: also run Red Moon Rising in the PvE Dark Zone while it lasts, open your backlog of caches, and test your main builds in Legendario content. Patch notes can change a build you rely on, and finding out in the first hour of a DLC campaign costs more than finding out now.
It is a few evenings of work, and it buys a launch day spent in Central Park instead of in your inventory.
Anyone who would rather not spend the evenings on it can hand Boosting de The Division 2 to our crew instead — same account, same progress, played by hand.
Stash Cleanup: What to Keep and What to Scrap
Your stash size depends on the expansions and passes you own, so go by the number on your own stash screen rather than a guide. The DLC’s store listings tie a 50-slot stash increase to its level-40 boost (see the explainer). Before November 3 is when you fix a full stash, aiming for about 200 items: a DLC campaign, a new gear set and new Exotics all land in the same inventory.
Check before you dismantle anything
- Loadouts. Open each saved loadout and note what it uses before you scrap a piece that looks spare.
- Expertise. Proficiency is tracked per item type, and items of a type can go toward it (see our Expertise explainer), so a spare copy may be worth more there than as materials.
- Copies you still need. Check the cost screen of any upgrade you plan before scrapping a duplicate of the item it asks for.
- Blueprints. Inaya sells some blueprints only while you own the item in your inventory or stash: Agitator, Investor, Caduceus, Nurse’s Kneepads, Whiplash and Underboss since Red Horizon, and the Prima Donna and Steel & Sons ACR reconfiguration blueprints since TU Y8S3.1. Scrapping your last copy closes that option.
- The Library. Extracting a roll destroys the item, and each piece can be recalibrated only once, so an item that is already good in several slots is worth more than any single stored roll.
Duplicates and alternative rolls
Keep at least one good physical piece for every slot your builds use. A second piece with a different good roll can be a better base for another build than a Library roll, because recalibration changes only one slot. Scrap a duplicate when the checks above say nothing depends on it.
Exotics and named items you are not using
Dismantling an Exotic gives Exotic Components, and a named item frees a slot, but both are the pieces the blueprint rule above applies to. Run the checks first; an item that is in no loadout, needs no Proficiency, has no blueprint tied to owning it and has not been equipped in months is a fair candidate.
Incomplete sets
Two or three pieces of a gear set with no plan to finish it take stash space. Decide now whether you will finish the set before November 3; if not, run the checks above and then clear the pieces.

Recalibration Library Priorities
The Recalibration Library stores the talents and attribute rolls you extract from gear, sorted by weapon or gear type, so you can put them on other items later. Two limits shape how you use it: extracting a roll destroys the source item, and each piece can only be recalibrated once, so one slot changes and the rest of the item stays as it dropped (Ubisoft, January 2020). A stored max roll therefore finishes a good physical item; it does not replace one.
What to store first
Core attributes first: Weapon Damage and Armor rolls. Skill Tier is different: it is a fixed core attribute, and each item that has it adds one Skill Tier, up to six (Ubisoft State of the Game recap), so there is no percentage roll to max; what matters is having it on the right pieces. After the cores, store the attributes your builds use most, such as Critical Hit Chance, Critical Hit Damage, Headshot Damage or Skill Damage, and the talents you swap between builds.
What the Library does not store
Brand Set bonuses belong to the brand: a Grupo piece always gives Grupo’s bonuses. They cannot be saved to the Library or moved onto another brand, so plan brand mixes with the pieces themselves.
Where to look for rolls
Targeted Loot is set per activity and points at a gear slot, brand or weapon type; it does not let you pick an attribute, and it is not a general Exotic filter. Check which Legendary Strongholds, Countdown runs or open-world activities show the slot or brand you need, and run those. Until October 13, Countdown Surge doubles Countdown Requisition (Requisition, not XP), which makes Countdown worth running this week.
Check vendor resets too: Cassie Mendoza and the weekly clan vendor sometimes sell well-rolled pieces outright.
Materials to Bank Before November 3
Every crafting material in The Division 2 has a cap, and arriving at a launch with a healthy reserve means you can craft, optimize and recalibrate DLC gear immediately. Caps depend on your progression and have changed over the years, so read them in your inventory rather than trusting a number from an old guide.
Printer Filament is the one that runs out first for most players. It comes from deconstructing mods, according to PC Gamer’s filament guide (written at the game’s launch, so sources may have shifted since), so mods that no loadout uses are the first candidates. Polycarbonate and Ceramics fill up from world loot and dismantling.
Componentes Exóticos
Exotic Components are what Exotic crafting and upgrades run on, so keep a reserve before a DLC that adds a new Exotic, The Ratel. Exotics that pass the checks in the stash section above are the usual top-up.
Farmeo de componentes exóticos
Exotic Components farmed in normal play on your account, in the amount you ask for.
Loadout Testing and Balance-Pass Prep
Every season and DLC can retune talents and sets, and Red Horizon showed how much moves mid-season: TU Y8S3.1 on September 23 brought a second round of PvP changes, reworked the Modular Plates Modifier and changed Signed, Shield, Delivered. You want to know your builds still work before November 3.
Run one Legendary Stronghold with each main build. Not for loot — to confirm the build still clears at the speed you expect. If it does not, check the current patch notes before you spend materials on it.
What Season 4 Means for Prototype Gear
Ubisoft has previewed a Season 4 rework of Prototype Gear that touches Expertise and Augments and aims to cut reliance on RNG, but it has not dated Season 4 or said how existing Prototype Gear converts (checked October 11, 2026). Our Year 9 and roadmap overview tracks what is confirmed.
Dark Zone players should check the PvP side separately: Ubisoft’s PvP breakdown lists the September 23 values next to the old ones.
Clan and Group Prep for Crossplay
Crossplay arrives in November. Clans migrate with it and their capacity rises from 50 to 100 members, which makes it the moment to bring in friends from other platforms; leaderboards reset at the same time. The full list is in our crossplay overview.
Roles for Echoes of Central Park
The DLC is playable solo or in co-op (details in the explainer). If your group plans to run it together, agree before launch who brings a healing or support build and who brings damage, and test each build in Legendary content rather than assembling it on launch night.
Resource Sharing
If your group farms together, coordinate Targeted Loot so everyone gets the pieces they need: one player farming Fenris pieces while another farms Grupo beats everyone farming random pools. The clan vendor resets weekly; if someone spots a god roll your group needs, call it out before the reset.
Deadlines Before November 3
Dated windows from Ubisoft’s Red Horizon and TU Y8S3.1 posts that reward the prep above, as of October 11, 2026. Full event details are in the Red Horizon season guide.
| Qué | When | Why it matters here |
|---|---|---|
| Countdown Surge | Until October 13 | 2x Countdown Requisition: the week to farm Countdown |
| The Georgetown Dead Zone | October 15 | Second Classified Assignment; Level 30, Assignments tab |
| Red Moon Rising | Until November 3 | Last chance at Vertigo, Sarru and the Recruiter’s mask |
| Echoes of Central Park | November 3 | DLC launch: stash and builds should be ready |
If you are catching up
The order that still works: clear the stash first, because Red Moon Rising drops Exotics and Named items into it; spend your playtime in the PvE Dark Zone before November 3; do the Library rolls after, when you know which DLC talents you want.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
Most players prep wrong because they focus on the wrong tasks. Here are the traps that waste time:
- Farming new builds instead of finishing old ones. The weeks before a DLC are not the time to experiment with a new archetype. Finish and optimize what you already play; the DLC’s new gear set will shift the meta anyway.
- Keeping named items with no plan. Named items in no build or loadout take stash space, but check Proficiency, Inaya’s blueprint rule and your loadouts before you scrap or extract one; after that, ‘maybe the meta will shift’ is not a reason to keep it.
- Ignoring SHD Watch optimization. If you’re well past SHD level 1000 and still haven’t maxed your SHD Watch categories, you’re leaving stats on the table. Max Weapon Damage, Crit Chance and Crit Damage first, then Skill Damage if you run skill builds.
- Skipping Countdown this week. Countdown Surge doubles Countdown Requisition until October 13, so it is the cheapest week this season to stock up from it.
- Waiting until launch day to test builds. Balance changes sometimes break builds in ways that aren’t obvious from the notes. Find out now, not while everyone else is already playing the campaign.
Conclusión
Depends on how clean you want November 3 to be. If you play casually and don’t mind spending the first evening of the DLC on inventory, you can skip most of this. If you want to walk into Central Park with a working build and room in your stash, three weeks is enough. Clean stash, finished Library and a material reserve are the three things that matter — and Red Moon Rising is the one item on this list that will not be there afterwards.
