As of September 5, 2026, Lord is no longer the highest Hero Proficiency rank in Marvel Rivals. It is the level 20 milestone on a 70-level, per-hero progression track, and community trackers put it at 6,100 Proficiency Points on one character — NetEase has not published the thresholds itself. The reward is that hero’s Lord avatar; further progress eventually unlocks an animated Champion avatar.
En resumen
- Hero Proficiency is tracked separately for each character and is not Competitive rank.
- Lord begins at Proficiency level 20 — 6,100 total points on that hero per community tracking, not an official figure.
- Points come from accumulated playtime, role-output objectives and elimination objectives.
- Quick Match and Competitive objectives have no repeat limit; Arcade objectives have a daily cap.
- About 20 hours is a commonly published estimate for Lord, not a guaranteed or official completion time.
- The track continues beyond Lord, reaching Champion at level 50 and ending at level 70.
How Hero Proficiency Works
| Proficiency rank | Starting level | Total points needed to enter rank |
|---|---|---|
| Agent | 1 | Starting rank |
| Knight | 5 | 500 |
| Captain | 10 | 1,700 |
| Centurion | 15 | 3,700 |
| Lord | 20 | 6,100 |
| Count | 25 | 14,100 |
| Colonel | 30 | 22,100 |
| Warrior | 35 | 30,100 |
| Elite | 40 | 38,100 |
| Guardian | 45 | 46,100 |
| Champion | 50 | 54,100 |
Hero Proficiency is an individual progression track for each character. Playing Hulk only advances Hulk’s track, for example, so earning Lord on another hero will not move your Hulk progress forward. It is also separate from Competitive rank — Bronze to One Above All is a different ladder, covered in Neonsect’s Marvel Rivals ranks guide.
NetEase expanded the system with Season 6 on January 16, 2026, adding levels and rewards beyond the original Lord cap. The studio also converted previously banked post-Lord Proficiency into the revised track, according to the official Season 6 patch notes.
The Champion rank continues through level 70. These current thresholds are catalogued by community-maintained resources including Rivals Compendium; NetEase’s public Season 6 notes confirm the expansion but do not list the complete numerical table.
If the hours are the obstacle rather than the fight itself, Boosting de Marvel Rivals is run hands-on by a booster from your region.
How to Earn Hero Proficiency Points
| Objective | How it progresses |
|---|---|
| Hero usage | Accumulate 15 minutes of playtime on the selected hero. |
| Role output | Vanguards mitigate or block damage, Duelists deal damage, and Strategists heal allies. |
| Eliminations | Vanguards earn KOs, Duelists land final hits, and Strategists earn KOs and assists. |
Open the Heroes menu, select the character you want to advance and view the Proficiency section of their profile. The page shows the objectives that automatically award points and reset when completed.
Each hero has three main objective categories:
The targets increase as the hero advances from Agent toward Lord. Exact requirements can also vary by character, so the in-game Proficiency page is the authoritative place to check the current damage, healing, mitigation or elimination target for your hero.
Which Modes Count Toward Proficiency?
Proficiency objectives are divided by matchmaking category:
- Quick Match and Competitive: Permanent objectives can be repeated without a daily cap.
- Arcade: Daily objectives can be repeated a limited number of times each day. The current in-game limit is 15 repetitions.
NetEase first separated uncapped Quick Match and Competitive objectives from capped Arcade objectives in its April 25, 2025 Proficiency update. It later added five more Arcade repetitions in the January 22, 2026 patch.
Fastest Reliable Route to Lord
- Choose the hero whose Lord avatar you want. Progress cannot be transferred from another character.
- Check the hero’s three objectives. Note the current playtime, role-output and elimination targets before entering matchmaking.
- Use Quick Match for unrestricted progress. Competitive also has uncapped objectives, but Quick Match avoids risking Competitive standing solely for a cosmetic grind.
- Use Arcade as a supplement. Arcade progress can help, but its daily missions stop awarding points after their repeat limit is reached.
- Play the hero’s intended role. Deal damage as a Duelist, protect the team as a Vanguard or maintain healing as a Strategist while still playing the match objective.
- Review progress after each match. Completion counters reset automatically, so a lower number can mean an objective finished and began its next repetition.
Important
There is no universally fastest role. Proficiency speed depends on the selected hero, the objective thresholds and the statistics generated during each match. Choose a hero you can play consistently rather than assuming every Strategist or Vanguard will level faster than every Duelist.
How Many Points Are Needed for Lord?
| Progression stage | Points for that stage | Cumulative total |
|---|---|---|
| Agent to Knight | 500 | 500 |
| Knight to Captain | 1,200 | 1,700 |
| Captain to Centurion | 2,000 | 3,700 |
| Centurion to Lord | 2,400 | 6,100 |
By that community-tracked table you need 6,100 total Proficiency Points to reach Lord at level 20 on a fresh hero. NetEase does not publish the thresholds, so treat the figure as a benchmark and check the in-game Proficiency page for your hero.
How Long Does Reaching Lord Take?
NetEase does not promise a fixed number of matches or hours. A July 2026 guide from Dot Esports estimates approximately 20 hours of gameplay for Lord, but that figure should be treated as a general benchmark rather than a guarantee.
Your result depends on how much of each match you spend on the hero and how often you complete the output and elimination objectives alongside the playtime objective. Frequent hero switching or consistently missing role targets can extend the grind.
What Lord Rank Unlocks
| Nivel | Rango | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | Agent | Fantastic hero nameplate |
| 5 | Knight | Hero spray |
| 8 | Knight | Fantastic hero title |
| 10 | Captain | Deluxe hero KO prompt |
| 13 | Captain | 100 Unstable Molecules |
| 15 | Centurion | Deluxe II hero KO prompt |
| 18 | Centurion | 100 Units |
| 20 | Lord | Hero-specific Lord avatar |
The reward list above follows community tracking of the Season 6 track; NetEase’s notes describe the rewards without a level-by-level table. The revised track provides rewards before and after Lord, rather than reserving everything for rank milestones.
The Lord avatar can be displayed in the hero-selection interface. NetEase added Lord avatars to the Hero Selection Wheel in the Season 2.5 patch.
What Comes After Lord?
Reaching Lord does not finish the modern Proficiency track. Count, Colonel, Warrior, Elite and Guardian follow before Champion begins at level 50. Champion unlocks the animated version of the hero avatar, while later levels continue to award badges, titles and nameplates through level 70.
Progress also accelerates slightly after Lord in the uncapped queues: NetEase’s January 22, 2026 update increased Proficiency earned from Quick Match and Competitive Permanent Missions by 30% for Lord-ranked heroes and above.
