Blizzard used its BlizzCon 2026 “What’s Next” panel on September 13, 2026 to confirm the Amazon is coming to Diablo IV, per the official panel recap on Blizzard’s news site, which is the source for everything below. This piece lays out what was said about the class — its four archetypes, its weapons, the fact that it is female-only, the first-half-2027 window — and, in one place, what Blizzard has not said yet.
En resumen
- Announced · Class Pack in the first half of 2027 · no price or exact date
- Four archetypes named by Blizzard: Champion, Skirmisher, Ranger, Commander
- Weapons in the recap: sword and shield (Champion), the Javelin (Skirmisher) — the one weapon type new to Diablo IV here — and the bow, the Amazon’s returning weapon (Ranger)
- The Amazon is a female-only class, in Blizzard’s own words
- Season of Hell’s Legacy launches September 15, 2026 and does not add the Amazon
What Did Blizzard Actually Confirm About the Diablo 4 Amazon Class?
Blizzard confirmed the Amazon will join Diablo IV through a Class Pack arriving in the first half of 2027: “The Amazon will join Diablo IV with a Class Pack in the first half of 2027.” That line comes from the official panel recap published on Blizzard’s news site on September 13, 2026, after a BlizzCon session where Senior Game Director Brent Gibson, Lead Game Producer Lily Gardner and Senior Lead VFX Artist Jayne Johnston discussed the class with content creator Rhykker. The same recap calls it “the female-only Amazon class for Diablo IV” and ties it to the Amazons of Skovos glimpsed in Lord of Hatred. A second Blizzard post, the Opening Ceremonies recap, independently confirms the window, describing the event as having “revealed the Amazon class pack coming to Diablo IV in 2027”. The recap links the panel VOD on Blizzard’s Twitch and YouTube for the full session; the written record above is what we rely on.
The Four Amazon Archetypes and Weapons, Explained
Diablo IV develops the Amazon around three stated design pillars — battle expertise, unrivaled athleticism, and mythical magic — with the class framed as “a fiercely disciplined warrior first who also leans into her mystical connection to her sister Amazons and Askari ancestors for magical aid when needed.” Four archetypes were named in the recap. Read them as design directions Blizzard has committed to, not as a spec-selection system: nothing published yet says how a player picks between them, switches, or mixes their skills.
On weapons, the recap is specific in three places and silent everywhere else: the Champion is “a sword-and-shield melee fighter”, the Skirmisher tears apart foes “with the Javelin” — the one weapon type new to Diablo IV in this reveal — and the Ranger is “a precision tactical archer”, which brings back the bow the Amazon carried in Diablo II. The Commander commands “phalanxes of Valkyries”. Elemental flavour some outlets added on top of this (a “cold magic” Champion, for instance) is not in Blizzard’s text and is not repeated here.
Female-only
Blizzard’s recap describes “the female-only Amazon class for Diablo IV” — the first Diablo IV class without a male option, in line with the Amazons of Skovos from Lord of Hatred.
| Archetype | Weapon focus | Official description |
|---|---|---|
| Campeón | Sword and shield | A melee fighter who uses buffs to reinforce herself and her allies. |
| Skirmisher | Javelin | An agile hit-and-run combatant who tears apart foes with the Javelin. |
| Ranger | Bow | A precision tactical archer who snipes and cuts down enemies from a distance. |
| Commander | Valkyries (summons) | A general who dominates the field with phalanxes of Valkyries. |
What a "Class Pack" Is — and What's Still Unknown
Blizzard’s wording is that “Class Pack details and purchase details will be available next year closer to release.” Everything not yet known fits in one list: no exact date beyond the first half of 2027; no price and no purchase model (bundled, standalone, included for anyone — none of it stated); no class resource, skill tree or specialisation system beyond the four archetype descriptions above. “Class Pack” describes the delivery format, nothing more. Spiritborn, the last new class, shipped inside the paid Vessel of Hatred expansion; Blizzard has not drawn that comparison, and we do not read a price out of it.
No preparation requirements for the Amazon have been announced — there is no system, drop or unlock cost published that a player could work toward today. What is worth doing this month is the current season, which is a separate thing.
Not everyone has the evenings for this — Boosting de Diablo IV covers the same ground with someone else on the keys.
Where the Amazon Sits on Diablo 4's 2026 – 2027 Timeline

The Amazon reveal shared the stage with the near-term news: Season of Hell’s Legacy, Diablo IV’s Season 15, launches September 15, 2026 with patch 3.2.1. It is a separate release and does not add the Amazon; its Waking Nightmares, returning bosses, Mythic Charms and Cube recipes are covered in our Season 15 prep checklist y el PTR-versus-BlizzCon comparison. Between the two dates — September 15, 2026 for the season and the first half of 2027 for the Amazon — the season is the only one with anything to play.
Our Take: Is the Amazon Reveal More Than a Name Drop?
Nuestra opinión
Four named archetypes and one new weapon type, the Javelin, make this a real reveal rather than a teaser image; a first-half-2027 window with no price attached still makes it a promise.
What Blizzard put on paper is more than a typical “coming next year” tease: four archetypes with specific roles, the Javelin as a new weapon type, a female-only class with a stated design philosophy tying it back to the Amazons of Skovos from Lord of Hatred. The flip side is that “Class Pack” as a label answers nothing about price or what current players get by default, and Blizzard has said that conversation comes in 2027, closer to release. Anyone treating the cost or an exact date as settled is reading further than the recap goes.
