Every run in Marathon Ranked costs something real. You put in gear to get through the door. You buy a Holotag to register a score target. Then you drop into a zone where anything can go wrong — a bad teammate, a coordinated enemy crew, one unlucky rotation — and if you don’t extract, you don’t just walk away empty-handed. You lose rank points equal to your full target. That’s the system. It doesn’t care how close you were.
