In AION 2 the Elyos and Asmodians live on their own servers, so the faction you want is decided by which server you join. The order is Region, then Faction, then one of the servers listed for that region. NC lists five launch regions: Europe, NA West, NA East, Latin America (LATAM) and ASIA. For latency, NC states that server locations are confirmed in North America, South America, Europe and Japan.<\/p>\n
Population figures, queue times and ping values for any region or server are not in the NC notices read for this guide. The Launch Server Matchmaking<\/a> notice of 4 October gives each region a numbered list of Elyos\/Asmodian pairs: Europe 18, NA East 8, LATAM 6, NA West 5 and ASIA 5. Each region runs its own copy of a server, so the regional pairs add up: 42 pairs, or 84 servers, by the Matchmaking tables. Many names repeat across regions \u2014 Siel\u2013Israphel is in all five \u2014 so those 42 pairs use only 18 distinct pairs of names.<\/p>\n The two official lists do not fully agree. The Launch Servers List<\/a> shows six ASIA pairs, adding Ariel\u2013Azphel, which would make 43 pairs and 86 servers. Until NC reconciles the two notices, treat 42 as the Matchmaking count, not a confirmed launch total, and check the ASIA list in the client.<\/p>\n
