The pattern holds either way: a first life built around a revive or spotting tool costs a fraction of the starting balance and cannot bankrupt you.

Ways to earn that do not depend on your aim

Spot with binoculars from the edge of the zone — assist cash when spotted enemies die (PC Gamer’s pick for the safest income).

Revive as a medic — direct cash per revive, plus tips players can hand you after a revive.

Drive the spawn APC to the zone or a FOB — “royalties” every time a teammate spawns on it while it stands.

Fly the helicopter taxi — cash per drop-off in the zone, tips, and assist cash when your passengers score.

Stand in the Hot Zone — double team-presence and double cash, and the whole enemy team knows it.

Community servers — Patch 0.11 gave them a 5% End of Match cash bonus “for the next week”; that week has passed, and the Patch 0.11 section below says what is known about it.

What a profitable life looks like on paper

Worked with the two published per-life prices only: a Support life that fields a Large Hammer ($2,400 vendor price; the Hammer itself must already be open — Support 8 and a one-time $75,000) and builds one Forward Operating Base ($7,500) has spent $9,900 before it earns a cent. Four changes touch how cash comes in:

Revives: revive validity checks are now fully server authoritative.

Vehicles: a vehicle fly-through exploit is fixed, and those rewards are now capped.

Buildables: rewards for destroying buildables now scale with their build progress, so destroying a freshly placed schematic no longer pays the full reward.

Pallets: depositing pallets into a FOB outside the zone now awards reduced rewards.

The notes give no numbers for the new caps or reductions. What they do spell out is the penalty: anyone caught abusing cash and XP exploits, or real-money trading, has had their cash and progression reset and risks a permanent ban, and the leniency shown to first-time offenders during Season 01 “is now over”.
